"Treat your friends as you do your pictures, and place them in their best light."
                                                        - Jennie Jerome Churchill (mother of Winston Churchill)

The annual Nocturnal Wonderland festival of 2005 took place at the National Orange Show event center in San Bernadino on Labor Day weekend. I hadn't been to a rave in Southern California since 1999 and really didn't know what to expect. The crowd and the vibe turned out to be amazing. I had the time of my life!!! Please wait for all the images to load.

The friends I went down to L.A. with for this party. This
was taken early in the night before I lost all of them.

Me and Ginn (who also rode down to Southern Cali with me for this event)
in the drum & bass room. I also never saw her again for the rest of the night.

Jovan and Eric: They're from L.A., not the Bay Area, but they also came
to the party with us. I don't remember running into them again either.
I basically separated from my friends and went off into my own little world.

Fine ass girls dancing on stage in the breaks room. Okay, now the party has
officially started. This is probably when I began to forget all about my friends.

I'm flying in outer space!!! Yeah, Nocturnal Wonderland is one of those commercial
raves that features various rides and attractions along with the dance rooms - extra
attractions that I was never interested in. But I decided to give it a brief try that night.

Dyloot of the Skills crew had a booth set up to promote his own
upcoming event - the official afterparty for San Francisco's Love Parade.

Ran into Cindy and Ryan - two kandy kids from the Bay Area - at the festival. How random!

Met these two Southern Cali ravers while taking a break from breaks. Simply Jeff was spinning,
but his style was too mellow for me, although he did do a sick skratch when opening his set.

These e-tards formed a puddle right in front of the speakers where I was dancing.
I didn't get mad at them though. Instead, I just hooked them all up with Vicks.

This guy was hanging out in the breaks room for most of the night just like I was. He was
pretty familiar with all the DJs, so I kept going to him to ask about the line-up and schedule.

DJ Storm and Trevor Rockwell of Florida spun my favorite breaks set of the night.
They were selling their latest CD for $10 afterwards. Of course I picked up a copy!

Local chick from San Bernadino. After we introduced ourselves to each
other, she joked with me about our names rhyming. Unfortunately, I couldn't
hear her over the music, so I actually had no idea what her name was.

Here's someone I met whose name I actually remember...Chris! It was his first rave.
He was one of four or five kids I met who were losing their rave virginity that night.

The girl smiling next to me must have been rolling pretty hard. Every time she saw me stand
near her, she rubbed my back as a gesture. Maybe she's just a nice gal! Anyway, she helped
me out after I tried and failed at getting a shot of myself with the DJ in the background. I'm
not sure why we even bothered though. You can't see the damn background, and I don't
even remember who was spinning at the time. But I know it was the drum & bass room!!

MCs spittin' rhymes on the drum & bass stage. Behind them in the dark is DJ Roni Size.

Uberzone giving the final performance of the night in the breaks room. I liked the
performance, but was so tired by then that I had to sit down through half of it.
