"Treat your friends as you do your pictures, and place them in their best light."
                                                        - Jennie Jerome Churchill (mother of Winston Churchill)

November 19, 2005 - I was in Hong Kong and had the chance to hang out with Cecelia Ho who was a graduate student in social work at HKU. We had originally met at a Seattle conference in 2002. Students and peer educators from nearby University of Macau were in Hong Kong for a tour and training of the areas where youth outreach had been done or needed to be done. Cecelia invited me on this tour as the DanceSafe representative from America. It was a lot of fun. We pretty much went club-hopping all night. The pictures below are from Cyber 8, Hong Kong's newest and fanciest dance site. The night before, police had arrested a few dozen individuals inside the venue as part of an undercover drug operation. Please wait for all the images to load.

Check out articles on my outreach work, on-campus and off-campus

Cyber 8 displayed anti-drug posters and signs produced by the
government, which also funds all the social work agencies that
Cecelia and her colleagues and students were a part of.

One of the things the outreach workers do is take readings
of the youths' blood pressure, pulse, and hydration level.

A few months later, I went back to Hong Kong and Cecelia took me to a government
anti-drug museum where there was a camera booth which took a distorted picture
of you to convey how fucked up things can be when you're, well, fucked up.
