"One man can completely change the character of a country, and
the industry of its people, by dropping a single seed in fertile soil."

Tabling at the Multicultural AIDS Awareness Day on campus - April 5, 2005 >>>

Below are two certificates of recognition awarded for the outreach work I did during my undergraduate practices at San Francisco State University, as well as links to related stories in the school paper. I couldn't have gotten so much publicity and work done without the help of Emi Koga (counseling major and fellow DanceSafe volunteer) and Bita Shooshani & Michael Ritter (prevention education counselors). I was honestly surprised to receive any recognition from the school. Other than working with Emi, Bita, and Michael, I never managed to recruit enough members to form much of a group. So it never occurred to me that anyone on campus even knew my student organization existed. I practically wet my pants in joy when I received the first certificate in our mailbox at the end of the spring 2002 semester. The name of my group during that year had been "Students for Safer Dancing," a campus version of DanceSafe. Funny though, a lot of folks thought I was advocating safety for dance majors in the performance arts department. Please wait for all the images to load.
